Music Information to the Wine
The ensemble Spirituosi is a group of six outstanding musicians with solid classical music formation and vast orchestral, choral and soloist experience. They´re coming from three different nations: three sisters Nathalie, Evelyn and Nicole Peña Comas, from the Dominican Republic; guitarists Damien Lancelle - France, Gonzalo Manrique - Peru and double bassist Rubén Sánches -Peru, Spirituosi performs a fresh, colorful and vivid repertoire, which has it´s roots in classical folk music of Latin America. Their innovation lies mainly in their ingenious musical arrangements and in the variety of colors provided by the instruments used by the ensemble.
Spirituosi endeavors to share the typical music of the Caribbean and Latin America through out the world. In order to achieve this, they have put together the most emblematic works of Latin America and the Caribbean. The music is presented in a "classical style" and introduces new technical possibilities for the instruments of this ensemble, while preserving the native rhythms of each Latin American culture.
"Souvenir Latino" comprises typical latin american rhytms and dances such as the Peruvian waltz, the Dominican bachata, merengue, mangulina, media tuna chence and yuca, as well as well as a selection of songs and chamcons by Gabriel Fauré, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Marguerite Monnot and Carlos Guastavino.
The mutual influence of France and Latin America is emphasized by the songs L´hymne à l´amour and Que nadie sepa mi sufrir (La foule in its french version), each song having crossed the ocean and received overwhelming success in its translated version.
Traditional rhythms in addition to lyrics alternating between humorous and passionate bring the latin american idiosyncrasy to life.
